Several times a week as the election approaches, my Obama-supporting 71-year old mother forwards everything “political” that she receives from her clueless Republican friends. Setting aside some of the offensive racist “jokes”, and easily debunked Right-wing propaganda she’s unwittingly passes along to me, she sent me this seemingly innocuous Halloween cartoon:

Halloween Democrat

It never fails to astound me how Republicans conflate “Democracy” with “Socialism”. Clearly, the cartoon had been edited and the original text replaced with this retarded attempt at Republican humor. I somehow felt the need to “correct the record” by sending the cartoon back to the people that sent it to Mom with my own, more accurate, punchlines:

Halloween McCain 1

Halloween McCain 2

Halloween McCain 3

I invite you to offer your own dialog in the comments below.

Oh, and on a side-note: you’ve probably heard that the sales of Presidential Candidate Halloween masks are a fairly reliable predictor of election outcomes? You might find it nice to hear that Obama masks are outselling McCain masks 2-to-1.

Happy Halloween.

(UPDATE: Almost on que, Sarah Palin gave yet another unintelligible rant regarding Senator Obama’s economic agenda during another campaign stop today/Monday:

“See, under a big government, more tax agenda, what you thought was yours would really start belonging to somebody else, to everybody else. If you thought your income, your property, your inventory, your investments were, were yours, they would really collectively belong to everybody.”

If Republican voters were more intelligent, they’d be seriously offended by their candidates “playing” them like this. I can’t decide if they truly believe… and are relying… on their supporters to be total idiots, believing they can tell them anything and they won’t know any better, or if they themselves are just as clueless. Either way, they have no business running this… or any other… country.

Thanks to “Crooks & Liars” for the report.
