  1. Grant in Texas - March 17, 2014

I fear Putin’s expansionist dreams won’t stop with Crimea but further invasions will be attempted now in more Easterm Ukrainian provinces where there are sizable ethnic Russian enclaves. Then watch out Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Belarus. However, Chechnya with a Muslim majority WANTS to secede and Russia won’t let them as that nation has oil and gas reserves, pipeline routes from the Caspian that makes it important to Putin and the oil oligarchs of Russia. Using Putin’s logic, Mexico could demand Texas and California be returned as someday Mexicans will be an ethnic majority here.

Putin also has the support of American right-wing evangelicals. Rev. Franklin Graham praised Putin this past year saying, “To survive in the KGB and rise to power in Russia, you have to be tough. Isn’t it sad, though, that America’s own morality has fallen so far that on this issue — protecting children from any homosexual agenda or propaganda — Russia’s standard is higher than our own?” Graham continued. “”Putin is right on these issues. Obviously, he may be wrong about many things, but he has taken a stand to protect his nation’s children from the damaging effects of any gay and lesbian agenda.” http://billygraham.org/decision-magazine/march-2014/putins-olympic-controversy/
